For many women, the wish to change the shape of their breasts often develops after pregnancy and breastfeeding or after weight loss and large recurring weight fluctuations. Usually there is a significant loss of volume in the breast tissue and slackening of the skin envelope, causing the breasts to drop and hang over the inframammary folds.

Depending on the initial findings and the tissue conditions, different surgical procedures are used to help restore your breasts to an attractive and firm shape. If there is sufficient breast volume, a breast lift alone (mastopexy) can already contribute to a considerable improvement in the shape of your breasts. If there is also a greater loss of volume, simultaneous breast augmentation with breast implants is advisable in many cases. A breast reduction combined with a breast lift is also possible.

This so-called augmentation mastopexy (breast augmentation with breast lift) is one of the most demanding operations on the female breast and requires a great deal of experience.
Thanks to my many years of specialization in breast surgery, I can offer you particularly gentle and modern surgical techniques that achieve very stable and natural results in particular and allow you to recover quickly from the procedure. Especially when an increase in volume is recommended or desired, you benefit from my expertise in polyurethane (PU) coated breast implants and the use of lightweight implants (B-Lite). These implants have outstanding properties that guarantee you the greatest possible stability and safety with regard to your treatment result, which in turn can contribute to a considerable reduction in the risk of implant-associated problems.

So if you want to regain the shape and fullness of your breasts that you were once used to and felt comfortable with, a breast lift, possibly combined with breast augmentation, is the best treatment option. In the vast majority of cases, this procedure can also make a very great contribution to helping you feel more attractive and self-confident as a woman again.

For me, modern breast surgery means

No drains, gentle surgical technique, little pain, quick recovery with few restrictions, natural and stable results

Surgical planning

The personal consultation is followed by a detailed analysis and measurement of your breasts, taking into account your physique and your proportions. I will draw your attention to various important aspects, from which, for example, the recommended surgical technique or the necessary incisions are derived.
If breast augmentation is advisable, I will explain in detail which implant volume and implant shape can achieve a result that suits you. Among other things, you can try on various trial implants (sizers), which allows you to get a realistic picture of the expected breast volume.
Thanks to this precise analysis, many possible doubts and uncertainties can be dispelled in advance, which ultimately not only benefits your safety but also builds trust in terms of realistic expectations of a possible treatment result.

Follow-up treatment

Planning and performing a breast lift is not enough on its own. After the operation, I will support you for at least 1 year. During this aftercare period, you may and should always contact me with all your questions, even outside the agreed follow-up appointments. Think of me as a reliable partner and companion who, like you, is interested in an optimal result and will therefore give you all the recommendations and tips along the way. This also means that I depend on your cooperation in following these recommendations. This includes, for example, what you should avoid in the first days, weeks and months and what you can do without any problems. You will find a lot of information on this website, and I will also give you a corresponding document after the operation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about breast lifts

Where does the operation take place?

Your greatest possible safety and health, as well as a high level of comfort, are very close to my heart. That is why I work with selected private clinics in the Stuttgart area, which on the one hand offer you the highest medical standards and hygiene guidelines and the best possible medical care, and on the other hand guarantee you the greatest possible comfort for your well-being during your stay. Depending on availability, you benefit from single rooms with private bathrooms, are competently and caringly looked after by medical and non-medical specialist staff, and are always in the best hands, even in the unlikely event of a medical problem. I will visit you regularly after the operation and ask how you are. Should it ever be necessary, the entire team and I are also available at night. So you can relax completely.

How can I prepare for my operation?

Sensible preparation for the operation begins with letting your loved ones, your family, friends or the person you trust know in good time that you will have to take things very easy for around a week after the operation. As we cannot issue you a sick note ourselves, you will usually have to take vacation days. So plan in good time to be able to take some time out.

For mothers of young children in particular, it is important to secure support from your partner, the grandparents or friends in advance with regard to the choice of operation date. Leaving this question unresolved leads to unnecessary stress and is by no means conducive to wound healing, a quick recovery and ultimately your result.
When you can return to work depends largely on your occupation. Light administrative work can usually be resumed after one week; strenuous activities such as skilled trades, elderly care and nursing require a longer break. Ideally, schedule your preferred date at the beginning of a planned vacation.

Also be sure to stop taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin (ASA, acetylsalicylic acid), e.g. for headaches, in good time before the date of the operation. In good time means at least 14 days before (!) the date of surgery. Other blood-thinning medications such as heparin or Marcumar must also be stopped or, if necessary, switched in good time in consultation with your family doctor.

It is just as important to be certain that everything is fine with your breasts. For your own safety, I will therefore always ask you to provide me with the most recent possible examination findings of your breasts from your gynecologist shortly before your operation (ideally an ultrasound examination, and a mammogram if appropriate for women aged 50 and over).

Current blood values from your family doctor, in particular the coagulation values and a few other values, are also indispensable before an operation can go ahead.

If you smoke, you should stop your nicotine consumption completely for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the operation, as nicotine can have a very unfavorable effect on the healing process.

How can I prepare my home for the first few days after the operation?

  • Have a few comfortable pillows ready so that you can lie and sleep with your upper body raised for the first few days
  • Get a few soft, commercially available cooling pads that you can place around the lower part of your breasts after the operation. In many cases, this relieves any feeling of tightness and helps prevent swelling
  • Severe pain is very rare, but nevertheless make sure you have enough painkillers at home so that, in the unlikely event of stronger pain, you are not “chasing the pain” but can give your body the rest it needs. Paracetamol 500 mg for the first few days and ibuprofen 400 mg from the third day are both available without a prescription and are usually completely sufficient. (I will of course give you specific dosage instructions)
  • Arrange in advance for someone to walk your dog, for example, as you should keep your arms, and therefore your chest muscles, away from heavy pulling and strain for at least the first few weeks
  • The most important thing is and remains physical rest, which also prevents painful swelling and unnecessary muscle irritation, for example. Give your body this time – after all, you want to be fit again quickly
  • You will receive further recommendations in our personal consultation

What should I bring for my operation?

For your stay, it is best to pack a sports bag or a small trolley with the essentials such as toiletries, dark, loose, non-tight clothing, a pajama top that buttons at the front if possible, your smartphone and whatever else you need to get by. It is best to leave jewelry and other valuables at home; please remove all piercings and, in times of coronavirus, please do not forget your face mask. Please do not apply lotion or other skin care products on the day of the operation. This would make it unnecessarily difficult to apply the planning markings on the day of surgery.

What happens after the operation?

While you are still in the operating room, we usually put on the support bra fitted to you, which will accompany you for the next 6 weeks. If the operation is planned as an outpatient procedure, I will hold the discharge consultation with you on the same day once you have recovered sufficiently, change the dressing one last time if necessary and give you all the necessary documents and recommendations for the way ahead and for at home. In the case of an inpatient stay (usually 1 night), the discharge consultation generally takes place on the morning of the following day.

What should I bear in mind after my operation?

For the next 6 weeks you should wear your support bra consistently around the clock, except for your personal hygiene. It counteracts swelling and also makes an important contribution to the later shape and therefore to your result.

For the next 6 weeks you must also refrain from sports activities such as jogging, cycling, horse riding, trampolining, chest training, EMS and the like. You should also strictly avoid lifting heavy loads >5 kg or strenuous overhead work. Mothers of small children are advised to organize appropriate support in advance.

Activities such as walking or isolated squats (if indispensable) as well as non-strenuous everyday tasks can, on the other hand, be resumed quickly. So you are not bedridden – on the contrary – your body and circulation will be glad after the anesthesia if you gradually get them going again with fresh air and gentle activity.

How are the costs of a breast lift made up?

The final treatment costs depend on whether we perform a breast lift alone or a breast lift with implant augmentation. In this context, your wishes regarding the choice of implant and whether you want to make use of the option of an overnight stay in the private clinic are decisive.
The price for a breast lift without implants is approx. €5,000 plus anesthesia services and the costs of the overnight stay in the private clinic, which is generally optional but recommended. With simultaneous breast augmentation, the treatment costs are correspondingly higher depending on the implants chosen. Following the personal consultation, I will be happy to draw up a corresponding quote for you on request.
