Specialist in plastic & aesthetic surgery, FEBOPRAS

Consultation & first appointment

What happens at a first consultation with you in Stuttgart?

A first consultation in my practice is above all a chance to get to know each other on equal terms. It is important to me that you feel comfortable in a discreet atmosphere. We first discuss your wishes and expectations in detail. This is followed by a medical examination and an honest assessment of what is technically feasible and aesthetically sensible. My goal is for you to leave the practice with a clear picture and no open questions.

Do I have to decide immediately after the consultation?

Absolutely not. An aesthetic treatment is a very personal decision that takes time. I place great importance on my patients making their choice with full conviction and without time pressure. You will take home all the necessary documents and a detailed cost estimate from me so that you can think everything over calmly.

I feel a little embarrassed about my concern – is that normal?

I encounter this worry more often than you might think. Please rest assured: as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery, there is no taboo subject for me. My team and I meet every concern with the utmost discretion and professional respect. Your well-being is our top priority, not judging your body.

Treatments & results

How do I recognize a “good” aesthetic result?

In my philosophy, a result is perfect when the surgical procedure cannot be seen. A good result underlines your natural attractiveness and looks harmonious with the rest of the body or face. When friends or acquaintances say that you look “rested” or “fresh” without guessing that you have had an operation, we have achieved our goal.

Can I see before-and-after pictures of your previous operations?

Due to the German Therapeutic Products Advertising Act (HWG), publishing such pictures on the internet is prohibited in Germany. During your personal consultation, however, I am very happy to show you anonymized case examples from my practice. This gives you a realistic feel for my surgical style and the possibilities of the respective procedure.

What happens if I don't like the result after healing?

Very precise planning and simulation in advance keep this risk to a minimum. Should you nevertheless be unsure, I will also support you closely during this phase. Together, we analyze the result after complete healing (often only after 6 to 12 months) and find a solution that meets your expectations.

Safety & qualifications

How safe are the procedures in your practice?

Safety is the foundation of my work. I operate exclusively in certified facilities with state-of-the-art technical equipment and experienced anesthesiologists. As a specialist, I only use proven methods and high-quality materials. Nevertheless, every procedure involves certain residual risks, which I explain to you transparently and in detail in advance.

Will I be in a lot of pain after the operation?

Thanks to modern anesthesia methods and minimally invasive techniques, pain after most procedures can be well controlled. Many patients describe the sensation more as severe muscle soreness or a feeling of tightness. You will receive an individual medication plan from us so that the first phase of recovery is as comfortable as possible.

What qualifications should a plastic surgeon have?

Be sure to look for the protected title “Facharzt für Plastische und Ästhetische Chirurgie” (specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery). Terms such as “cosmetic surgeon” or “aesthetic doctor” are not protected and say nothing about surgical training. I have completed many years of specialized training in order to master both aesthetics and reconstruction at the highest level.

Aftercare & healing

How long will I be unable to go out in public after a procedure?

That depends very much on the type of procedure. After minor injections, you are usually ready to go again immediately. For larger operations such as breast augmentation or a facelift, you should expect a break of about 1 to 2 weeks. We plan your procedure so that it fits optimally into your life.

How often do I have to come for follow-up appointments?

Aftercare is just as important for the final result as the operation itself. As a rule, we see each other shortly after the procedure, after two weeks and then at regular intervals over several months. I personally support you until complete healing – this service is of course included in my fee.

What can I do myself to improve scarring?

A great deal. I give you detailed instructions on scar care and sun protection. I also recommend avoiding sports, saunas and nicotine in the first few weeks, as these significantly affect blood circulation and thus wound healing.

Costs & financing

How much does a treatment with Dr. Zimmermann cost?

Flat-rate prices are difficult in reputable medicine, as every treatment is as individual as you are. After an initial examination, I draw up a transparent cost estimate for you that covers all services (anesthesia, clinic stay, aftercare). Quality and safety have their price, but we make sure the calculation is fair and comprehensible.

Do you offer the option of paying in installments?

Yes, we work with specialized financial service providers focused on medical treatments. This allows you to pay the costs conveniently in monthly installments. Just ask us – we will be happy to give you the relevant information material.

Will health insurance cover the costs of my operation?

In my private practice, I focus on aesthetic services, which are generally not covered by German statutory health insurance. However, if the procedure is medically indicated (e.g. severe tissue laxity with functional limitations), coverage by private insurers may be possible in individual cases. We are happy to support you with the necessary medical reports.

Organization & procedure

How soon can I get an appointment with you?

We aim to offer you an appointment for an initial consultation within two to three weeks. For surgical procedures, you should plan a lead time of about four to eight weeks, especially if you are tied to certain dates (e.g. vacation).

Where do the operations take place?

I perform minor procedures and minimally invasive treatments directly in my discreet practice rooms in Stuttgart. Larger operations take place in a state-of-the-art private clinic nearby, which offers the highest safety standards and first-class service for your inpatient stay.

Do you charge for consultations?

Yes, we charge a fee for a detailed consultation in accordance with the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). This time is reserved exclusively for you to guarantee thorough medical advice without time pressure. If you go ahead with a treatment, this fee is usually offset against the total fee.
