Your fat-dissolving injections in Sindelfingen
If you are bothered by a blurred neck contour, a double chin or other stubborn fat pads, for example on the flanks and lower abdomen, that you simply cannot get rid of despite changing your eating habits and exercising, so-called lipolysis (fat dissolution) can be a sensible and at the same time effective treatment alternative to surgical liposuction.
Lipolysis is now highly valued, particularly for limited and localized fat pads, and its effectiveness has been scientifically studied and proven for over 30 years. Thanks to the additional tightening effect on the overlying skin, which can usually be achieved alongside the volume reduction, this form of treatment is becoming increasingly popular and can also be carried out on an outpatient basis in the practice. The fat cells are dissolved by the main active ingredients phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholic acid, which are injected directly into the area to be treated and cause some of the fat cells to burst through a temporary inflammatory reaction. These are then transported away by the body, metabolized via the liver and excreted.
The injections themselves are usually only slightly painful, but immediately afterwards (usually for up to 1 week) some itching, swelling, redness and a certain sensitivity to touch may occur in the treated area. These are normal reactions attributable to the active ingredient. By adding vitamins and other valuable substances, however, these side effects are significantly reduced and the effect of lipolysis is further enhanced.

Frequently asked questions about fat-dissolving injections
When are fat-dissolving injections sensible and possible?
Like liposuction, lipolysis is not a treatment method for losing weight but for treating localized, stubborn fat pads that cannot be satisfactorily reduced through diet and exercise. Every body, and thus every metabolism, reacts somewhat differently to the active ingredients, so the effect of each individual treatment can also vary in strength. The method should therefore not be compared with liposuction, in which the fat cells are removed from the tissue with a cannula. Lipolysis is thus a comparatively inexpensive treatment alternative with which very nice results can be achieved, even if they are not quite as reliable as those that can be achieved with surgical liposuction.
How many treatments are required to achieve the desired result?
Depending on the extent of the fat pads, the regenerative capacity of the tissue and your metabolic activity, at least 2–3 sessions at least 6–8 weeks apart should be carried out in order to achieve a satisfactory result. The intervals are necessary because they correspond to the period of the fat-reducing effect and metabolism via the liver. Depending on the course of treatment, I will give you an individually tailored recommendation as to whether and when a further session makes sense.
When are fat-dissolving injections not possible?
Treatment is generally not possible at an age <18, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or in the case of diabetes mellitus with vascular involvement.
There is an increased treatment risk in the case of active autoimmune diseases, e.g. of the thyroid, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, severe liver or kidney disease, and also acute infections or chronic immunodeficiency, obesity with a BMI over 30, known hypersensitivity or intolerance to one of the ingredients, and coagulation or menstrual disorders. The method should not be used in these cases either. It is therefore all the more important that you tell me in advance whether any of these apply to you.
What reactions are possible after lipolysis?
After fat-dissolving injections, you must temporarily expect swelling and warmth, skin redness, itching, slight pain and tenderness in the injection area. Very rarely, small hematomas (bruises) occur. Sometimes the body reacts somewhat sensitively, with brief slight dizziness or circulatory reactions, which is why we observe you for a moment after the treatment before you can go home. You should also drink plenty of still water before and after the treatment.
Can I prepare for lipolysis treatment?
Drink plenty of fluids on the day of the treatment. Still water is best. Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day of the treatment, as the region concerned may swell after the treatment. Get a mild painkiller such as paracetamol 500 mg. Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ASA/aspirin, ibuprofen or Voltaren for the first 3 days. For the neck, wearing a facial bandage for 1 week may be advisable.
How should I behave after lipolysis?
Immediately after the treatment, you rest with us for a few minutes so that any circulatory reactions can be observed. The treated area is also gently massaged and cooled. Continue to drink plenty of fluids in the days after the treatment (approx. 3 liters a day). As swelling and redness can occur in the treated area and the remodeling processes in the fatty tissue may cause slight pain or a burning sensation, you may want to take a mild painkiller such as paracetamol. Cooling with a care lotion or direct cooling with commercially available cooling pads also relieves pain. Gentle self-massage can be very soothing. Plan for about 3 days of rest after the treatment, and a sick note if necessary. You should avoid sports for about 1 week.
For up to one week after the treatment, please avoid direct sunlight, solariums, saunas or hot baths; showering is no problem. As the fat is transported away via the liver, a liver-friendly diet (little fat and no alcohol) should generally be followed after the treatment.
